Stretch Mark Skin Repair

Stretch Mark:  Streaks or stripes on the skin, especially on the abdomen, caused by distension of the skin from pregnancy or weight gain. AKA:  Nasty buggers!  I'm often asked how to prevent them and, is there hope after stretch marks? My favorite combination to share is always this:  pure Lavender and Myrrh.  We know Lavender is restorative and regenerative. Lavender essential oil is commonly used to speed up the healing process of wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburns because it improves the formation of scar tissues. Myrrh essential oil is an astringent, meaning that it strengthens the hold of gums to teeth, contracts the skin, muscles, intestines and other internal organs.  One more serious aspect of this astringent property is that it stops hemorrhaging in wounds. When this astringency makes the blood vessels contract and check the flow of blood, it can stop you from losing too much blood when wounded.  Myrrh is also vulnerary, meaning the property of Myrrh essential oil protects wounds from infections and makes them heal quicker. I like to blend essential oils with organic virgin coconut oil whenever possible, it's an amazing carrier oil with powerful healing properties of it's own complimenting pure EOs perfectly in my opinion.  Enjoy this list of 101 Uses for Coconut Oil, you'll soon learn why I prefer it.
