Allergies and inflammation often go hand in hand.  Your body is fighting something be it an infection, a toxin, an allergen, a food or the stress response.  Somehow, it redirects its hostile attack on your joints, your brain, your thyroid, your gut, your skin or sometimes your entire body. In nature's medicine cabinet there exists a powerful selection of pure essential oils that when combined create a natural antihistamine.  The simple pure plant essence of Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint used together have the ability to step in and cool down body inflammation resulting from the body's allergic response. This is important info!

The immune system produces proteins called IGE antibodies, these antibodies are are responsible for identifying harmful toxins and attacking them.  When an allergen enters the body the IGE antibodies react abnormally and begin releasing histamines that trigger an inflammatory response in the body.  Histamines attach to histamine receptors in body cells and cause the cells to swell and release fluid.  In an excellent article called, "5 Signs a Hidden Food Sensitivity is Sabotaging Your Health" and written by Julie Pelaez, she points out 5 red flags to look for to help you identify if you have food sensitivities and inflammation. Inflammation is a hot topic in medicine today, it appears to be connected with almost every known chronic disease - from heart disease to cancer, diabetes to obesity, autism to dementia and even depression. Ironically, the immune system's inflammatory response, that's meant to heal and protect the body often causes more problems than the "invader" itself.CY LLP Pics 2

Meet my 13 yr. old friend, Cy. His is a glaring example of inflammation caused by histamines gone wild. Cy's allergies were severe, he's been kept on a strict diet and controlled environment for most of his young life. He's seen doctor after doctor, taken almost every prescription in the book all to no avail. Finally, all that could be done to somewhat control his severe histamine reaction (huge IGE levels) was 200mg of Benedryl a day and a bleach bath each night for some relief from the pain and itching of rashes and welts. Often, allergies will manifest themselves through the skin.

Often, allergies will manifest themselves through the skin. As you can see in the photo above, Cy had almost immediate results with the LLP Antihistamine Blend {lavender, lemon and peppermint} protocol. His welts were healing, his adrenals calmed and he was able to sleep again!  I have to say, his Mom is a rock star, she's seen many stressful years of worry and concern for her son. On this journey, she's also developed a wonderful Healing Salve that's sold in the CW Shop called Herbal Allergy Ease Salve, recipe available too.

Can Insomnia be an allergic reaction?

Personally, I know of two individuals whose sleep patterns improved dramatically after simply applying LLP Antihistamine Blend on the bottom of their feet 2 to 3x daily.  This simple application worked wonderfully for both an adult woman and my 3 yr old grandson.  I believe it's a much safer option than over the counter allergy meds without the typical side effects like drowsiness.

Antihistamine Protocol in a roller bottle: L.L.P Blend: 1 part LLP  Blend with 1 part carrier oil as needed.

Antihistamine Protocol in a capsule: 9 drops of LLP Blend in 00 gel capsule 3x daily. Itchy eyes? Dab some Lavender that you've diluted with coconut oil on the facial bones surrounding the eyes for quick relief.

Before I conclude what's my opinion of allergy driven inflammation I want to say this:  Doctors are trained to shut down inflammation with aspirin, anti-inflammatory medication like NSAIDS, steroids and increasingly more powerful immune suppressing medication that can bring serious side effects. The good news is there may be a safer, more effective answer to the chronic symptoms of inflammation, all for less than what a co-pay would cost with a simple, natural blend of pure essential oils. I've only scratched the surface of allergy-related inflammation in this post, the scope of evidence is way beyond my simple explanation.  However, my hope is to start the conversation so you can take the ball and run with it, do your own research and know, that there may be a simpler, safer answer waiting for you in nature's medicine cabinet. Be well!

Hi Diane ~ sorry to hear that you son suffers from allergies ~ they are so miserable and it’s very hard to explain what he goes through to others who don’t understand I’m sure. Allergies are the hidden illnesses that make it very difficult.

I would definitely try the roller bottle of the oils on his feet. Interesting enough ~ I just finished using Cy’s Healing Salve on Cy and my nephew massaging their feet. They both looked like there were in la la land! They loved it. My nephew also has very dry hands and the salve really helped them.

As for the recommendation ~ try this to start with ~ put 5 drops of each Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint in a small roller bottle. Add 10 drops of Coconut Oil and shake a little. If you can get your son to let you apply this on his feet 3x/day that would be great.

Keep us posted on how it works for you. Also ~ you can put one drop of each (LLP) with a little coconut oil in your hand and massage on the back of his neck and down his spine. If he has rashes, welts or eczema you might want to consider the salve because it helps retain the moisture in the skin.

Please feel free to ask any more questions ~ Hope this helps him.

ok, I am wondering about the equal parts Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint and 1 part fractionated oil… in a roller bottle, how much oil and the essential oils would you put? My son has terrible allergies, but so far wont try the EO’s,I thought if I could get them in a roller bottle he might put them on his feet. I am so happy the oils worked for your son SandyKay…

The insomnia solution: is that equal parts of the 4 oils? My mother suffers and is willing to try just about anything.

Dear Bobbie ~ ditto to Rebecca’s response. Such a difficult thing I’m sure. My only suggestion would be to tell you that my son Cy really craved the smell of Frankincense and Immortelle when he was hurting so bad. When he would smell it ~ I could just see his whole body relax. Not sure if this would help your husband but I thought I’d share it just in case. May you both find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

I am looking for ways to make my husband feel comfortable and feel better. He has stage IV prostate cancer and the past three weeks has had great stomach pain, feels like crap, cannot eat and doesn’t drink much at all. It is heartbreaking and scary. I am trying my doTerra and praying it will soon help.

Cheri, I am sorry, I got cut off. I am not a medical person but have lived a life of even all natural products causing problems. I wish you the best of luck. I pray that you will find healing and relief from your medical issues.
Rebecca, thank you for allowing me to input my two cents on my experiences and what is working for me.
Cheri, keep having faith and do NOT give up. If you continue to try, I know that, like me, you will find something that helps and brings relief. You will continue to be in my prayers.

On a completely NON-medical person, I’d stop using the LLP…there is something in them that obviously sets off your allergies…maybe the methol part? I would definitely try Rebecca’s idea about the frankincense…but some of us are allergic to more things. Did you try them individually rather than a blend? Maybe it’s the synergistic reaction of all of them. I know a lot of people seem to be allergic to lavender, maybe that is the trigger?

Just some ideas.

For taking internally for inflammation… How much, how often? I have fibromyalgia and I control it pretty well with my diet. Occasionally I get into something I shouldn’t, either accidentally or out of frustration with my very limited diet. I would love to have something that might bring me around quicker and out of pain. I am also a massage therapist who helps clients deal with pain and dietary adjustments for inflammation.

Hello Rebecca, Can I ask how much ml/oz I will need to get 5 drops or 10 drops of oil, and where I can get the roller to put them in? Thank you.

Your health issues very well could be helped with PURE therapeutic grade essential oils. If you have any relatives in the US, perhaps they could provide a way for your purchase these oils.

Can I use any other kind of oil to mix the LLP with? Just wondering, or is it only effective in fractionated coconut oil?

Thank you for this info about LLP! I will definitely give it a try!

Love your blog! It’s been so helpful as I enter the world of EO’s! On the antihistamine for the roller bottle, do you mix the equal parts of LLP and then mix the blend 1:1 with the FCO? Or is it equal amounts of all four? I keep seeing where we need to dilute some oils and I’m never sure what the ratio should be. Thanks for being such an informational source!!

I have read about using LLP before. But today’s post got me to thinking…I have an auto-immune disease called Takayasu’s Arteritis..yeah go look it up, I’ll wait……scary, huh?! Anyhoo, I haven’t been able to get in to see my rheumatologist for three years due to insurance issues and now no insurance. Gotta LOVE that! Anyway, I seriously just rubbed these three oils on my neck, having a pain of 5 on the pain scale, and within the time it took me to make up a sample bottle and label it (maybe 5 minutes?)and then start this comment….PAIN FREE!! Holy Cow! I’ve been in pin for several weeks now! Hallelujah! The angels sing!Thank You for all your tireless work, although I suspect it’s more of a fun hobby! Thank you thank you!

Thank you so much for this post. I started LLP in the capsules a week ago. The difference is amazing. I’ve quit taking Zyrtec every day. I have Fibromyalgia and it’s helped with the symptoms. I still have pain in my neck and shoulders but I’ve had more energy and been more clear headed in the past week more than anytime in the past year. And that’s just with one week of the LLP protocol. I’m working on getting more oils so I can use them in my daily life. I’ve joined as a IPC too. Again thanks so much!

I just tried this yesterday morning. I awoke with sinus congestion, and remembered seeing the LLP post so I looked it up. I was happy to see it was equal parts, which makes it SO MUCH EASIER to remember down the road. I mixed some up in a small dropper bottle, added 9 drops to a little water, and down the hatch. Almost immediately, I could breathe better. AMAZING!! I’m now going to keep this blend on hand and make up a roller ball for the kiddos and hubs (if I can convince him to let me use it on him).

Thank you for all you do! I’m so glad to have found the EO world!! :)

Is there any reason one drop of each of these couldn’t be blended and rubbed together in the palms of the hands and then massaged into the soles of the feet and used neat if tolerated? Or is this too powerful a blend to be used that way?

I had been unknowingly suffering from allergies for many years beginning in my 30s and started out using a nebulizer with corticosteroids and ventolin, until this was discovered and I began getting immunotherapy allergy shots. These have been a lifesaver for me and I have been told by my geneticist (I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) that they are the Cadillac of allergy treatments. However, my previous allergist retired, and the specialist who took over changed the company who provided the allergy serum, and the new serum is not working for me, and I am now back to square one with the nebulizer.

I had been using the LLP combo in my humidifier all the previous winter, not realizing it was an allergy reliever, but simply because they are my three favorite EOs, so I am excited to find this information out! I am now hoping to use this info to help relieve my allergy symptoms further by either putting this on the bottoms of my feet or ingesting in capsules. Also very interested to learn about the “Breathe” EO. Is there a non-branded combination available. I am from Canada. Also wondering if doTerra is in Canada? I have a lot of other health challenges and am on some heavy duty medications, so if I can do anything natural to make my life a little easier I would love to know about it!

Combine 1 drop each of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint in 1 teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil and apply 2 drops to begin with to front paws. See if that helps, you may want to make it stronger if you’re not seeing a difference.

Hi Rebecca, I am a regular reader of your blog. Thanks for the work you do. I recently received the OOTM from Spark Naturals, and it is the LLP blend. I was wondering how could I use this blend on my 22 month old son. He has recently started going to day care and often gets runny nose. Recently he recovered from bronchilites, I didn’t know any EO remedy for this so had to use the prescribed bronchodilator. I hated giving it to him. He still sporadically coughs at night and does not sleep through the night yet. How can I use LLP to treat issues like cold, cough and his sleep problem? He never slept through the night since birth. He wakes up at least 3-4 time every night. Please help!!! Thank you.

Yes you can – if you’re using pure essential oils with a dietary use standard on the label. You can also blend equal parts of the three oils and roll the bottoms of your feet as needed. Applying pure EOs to the bottoms of your feet is a quick way for the oils to get into your bloodstream without going through your digestive tract.
