calm-kiddos My kiddos are grown now but I remember very well what it's like to manage after-bath tangles and school morning bed-heads, oh the crankiness!  If I'd known then what I know now I would swooped in with a little aromatherapy magic and saved myself AND my kids a lot of tears and a few strands of hair, I love this hair detangler! Homemade hair detangler is nothing new, just ask Pinterest but adding the benefits of mood management aromatherapy is somewhat original in fact, you might be wowed by it! Let me explain why this is such a special product to use on your kiddos:  By spritzing your sweet pea's wet hair with Calm Kiddos not only are you easing the fear and the fight of combing out tangles you're also introducing an effective method of aromatherapy.  Once the hair absorbs the essential oils and dries, your child will benefit from whiffs of the aroma throughout the day whenever there's movement of hair or just the wind brushing by (for our short hair darlings).  Theory behind aromatherapy is this:  It is believed that the inhalation of essential oils stimulates the part of the brain connected to smell - the olfactory system; a signal is sent to the limbic system of the brain that controls emotions and retrieves learned memories. This causes chemicals to be released which make the person feel relaxed, calm, and even happy! The ingredients needed to make your super amazing Calm Kiddo Detangler are easy to gather.  You'll need a spray bottle and may I recommend recycling a 16 oz glass white vinegar bottle as shown? I love buying them for the vinegar of course and to recycle for use with GREEN household cleaners, or this!  FYI: I suggest using glass bottles with essential oils however, if you're not drinking the contents or putting it on your skin, plastic will work. Pure essential oils will etch the inside of plastic, just so you know.

Detangle hair in peace and enjoy aromatherapy benefits throughout the day if you're a hair flipper.
 • 16 oz glass bottle
 • 18 drops Original Jeddy's Blend
 • 2 teaspoons favorite conditioner
 • Hot water
 1. Add approximately 2 teaspoons of your favorite conditioner to a 16 oz glass bottle. It's easiest to eyeball two quick squirts from the conditioner bottle!
 2. Fill the bottle with hot water and shake to blend. Note: If your conditioner doesn't dissolve very well in hot water (like mine) feel free to blend it smooth in a blender and pour back in. Lastly, add Original Jeddy's Blend or your own special choice of essential oils. Spritz generously on wet hair and comb out!
Make a difference in the family's morning and bedtime routines by adding calming, grounding essential oils like Original Jeddy's Blend to the peacemaking efforts of a DIY detangler. If Rapunzel or any level of "princess" resides in your house, you might love me for this idea!

What a great idea! I wish we had had Jeddy’s Blend when our children were children. What a difference it could have made for them. Now, we have a couple of very active grandchildren. This Hair Detangler might make a great Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gift! (If I can wait that long to share it with them. Maybe an Ides of March gift!)

Amber, I bought spray bottles from the Dollar Tree Store and attached them to glass vinegar bottles. It worked out great for my homemade cleaning products. :)

I love this idea for a detangler …thinking about adding some tea tree, lavender, and citrus to it. (to use for school and hopefully keep away lice.) I have already added these EO to gel and the kids like the smell.

Sorry Rebecca, I just skimmed through when I read this post and missed the vinegar bottle comment! :)
However, would love to know where to buy the nozzle! LOL

Where can I find a glass spray bottle like the one pictured? Love the spray nozzle! I have the small 4oz bottles but for hair, those would be a pain to have to spray with! HAHA

This is a great idea! I also used to use detangler at nite and braid my daughters hair loosely before bed so that in the morning, the tangles were gone. Now my son wears his hair long during hockey season and I will definitely use this in the morning in addition to before bed! Thanks!!!
