A bout with Giardia is a very uncomfortable, very common down side to traveling or spending time outdoors usually brought on by drinking or ingesting contaminated water. I once brought this home after eating a salad on my last day in Costa Rica - what was I thinking? Lettuce is washed with - water - (obviously, I wasn't thinking).
Giardia is protected by an outer shell that allows it to survive outside the body for long periods of time and makes it tolerant to chlorine disinfection. While the parasite can be spread in different ways, water (drinking water and recreational water) is the most common mode of transmission.
Giardia can cause a number of intestinal symptoms such as, diarrhea, severe gas, intestinal cramping, nausea and dehydration.
Oregano is a well known antimicrobial, if you have an infection you want Oregano oil in your protocol.
Firstly, you cannot take Oregano orally unless it's in a carrier oil because it's a very hot essential oil. Second, the addition of CBD oil offers the benefit of carrier oil but so much more. I propose that by making your health and wellness protocols as robust and beneficial as possible, you're assisting your body systems return to balance (homeostasis).
Rather than reinvent the wheel, here's an excellent graphic created by Dr. Josh Axe to show you why a high quality CBD oil in an EO protocol can be powerful...
Add 4 drops of Oregano Oil to 10ml CBD Oil
TIP: Use a clean, empty Camp Wander 10ml essential oil bottle and top with a glass dropper for ease of use. I do sell 6 packs of droppers that fit my 10ml EO bottles on the website.
At first sign of Giardia symptoms as mentioned above - take one dropper full 3x daily with food in your stomach. Follow protocol for 2 to 3 days.
Before I say goodbye I want to leave you with one more tip! Always wander with Oregano essential oil, its infection fighting properties can see you through some rough times, don't forget the carrier oil!
