Gout hurts! It's an arthritic condition of the joints that usually strikes the big toes, but it can affect ankles, heels, knees, wrists, fingers, and elbows too. Think twice about the side effects of pharmaceuticals to ease the pain when mom nature already has your back! The reason gout is so painful is due to a buildup of uric acid - sharp, crystal like deposits in the joints, most often in the big toe. If you suspect a mild case, your doctor will most likely recommend NSAIDS (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) which can have long term effects on your gut and your heart. Why not try a natural blend of essential oils with known pain relieving properties that won't give you a new set of problems - gout is bad enough! Before I go any further I must say this, if you suffer from gout, cut way back on sugar intake especially sugar sodas and, alcohol, eliminate if you can! You'll be ahead of game in many ways and maybe save yourself acute attacks of gout down the line. That said... A friend of mine shared this combination and told me it was the only thing that worked for her to ease the burning pain in her big toe so I'm passing the testimonial on to you. It made complete sense to me when she told me combined St. John's Wort and Birch - both are well known natural pain relievers with strong anti-inflammatory properties and more, I wouldn't be without either of them.

Great post!! Question: would this help with leg cramps…..and toe cramps?
After reading this protocol, I immediately ordered both the Birch and the St John’s wort so that I could try it. I just barely got them and had to make it up. I have a friend that suffers horribly from arthritis, and I have a thumb joint that gives me problems. I gave him a bottle and he loved it! My thumb joint has been giving me a lot of pain the past few days so I just made a bottle for me. But in mine I added a little of Emu oil to it. IT IS FANTASTIC! It worked immediately! It took the sharp knife pains away. I cannot thank you enough for this protocol! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! (I can’t wait to make a bunch of these for my friends!)
Yes they would be fine.
I don’t have Rosehip Seed Oil and I need to make this Blend immediately!
I have fractionated coconut oil and Emu oil….
Would either one be a suitable replacemnt?
It might help with cramps however, it’s quite strong. I have a gentler blend called Muscle Ease that’s amazing for muscle cramps/charlie horse!
Lemon oil also works for gout. I don’t have any idea how, but it seems to seep in and make the crystals causing the pain go away. Not a scientist or a doctor, but it works for my husband. I have also used it when my arthritic knee locked up. Very painful!! But a few drops of lemon oil massaged in behind the knee and a ten minute wait allowed me to stand up again and move around. I keep a roller bottle of lemon oil with coconut oil in my purse, on my desk, and by my bed at all times.
Jack, there are two things I would recommend for you and others that suffer with neuropathy and are looking for safer topical relief – CW Nerve Pain & Block Salve and Lavender Spike Essential Oil. They can be used separately or layered.
I need a recipe for Neuropathy in my feet. The numbness, burning and sharpe pain that radiate through my toes is excruciation at times and aware of every step I take day to day. How do you spell relief? I don’t know please tell me and others with this devastating ailment! Thank you, Jack
It certainly can be very helpful for RA.
Would this work for rhumatoid arthritis too?
