How to Pour Small Jars of Salve Without the Mess!

Somebody's a Genius!

CW Salves have been a staple around here for a long time, I've poured a few jars in my day.  Well just when I thought I'd seen it all, wonders never cease.  Today I discovered a brilliant way to fill tiny containers like lip balm sticks and cosmetic jars {always a challenge} in a more controlled manner.

Dollar Store Special:  2 for $1

Follow directions to make All Purpose Healing Salve, Naked Salve or any other CW Salve Blend.  Prepare your jars while you're melting the beeswax, coconut and olive oils.  When your salve is ready carefully pour it into a squeeze bottle using a funnel.  Next, wrap the bottle with a dish towel or hot pad because it's going to get warm.

Fill your small jars, lip balm pots or tubes with ease!

Clean up is relatively easy, let the remaining salve left in the bottle cool.  Then use a skinny rubber spatula to scrape most of the leftover salve out of the bottle.  Wash the bottle with hot, soapy water.

I am definitely going to have to try this! I’ve been giving healing salve as baby shower gifts (with requests from each that have received them for MORE!) this fall…I’m spending this afternoon making more salve (need to get some of the small cosmetic pots though). Once again you and your sisters have come to the rescue!

What about the hot product going into a plastic that probably contains BPA? Doesn’t that concern you?

My squeeze bottles are BPA free and there are no essential oils in this part of the process only coconut and olive oil, I feel confident that it’s safe.

A quick and easy diffuser blend for sleep (great for kids too) is equal parts Lavender and Marjoram. We call it the Lullaby Blend :)

What if you want to make smaller than 4 oz jars, like 1 oz jar or 1/4 oz jars for samples to hand out? How do you figure out the drops then? Since you put the same amount of drops in each 4 oz jars. Would I mix it in the 4 oz jar first and divide the drop mixture among the 1 oz or 1/4 oz jars? Thanks.

Helen, are you referring to the Headache Buster Blend? We don’t sell Sinus Buster in a kit :)

Hi Rebecca. Bought your Sinus Blend Kit the other day and I was wondering what ratio of the blend to put in the rollerball before I top it up with the carrier oil. It’s probably something I should know but it has slipped my mind and I’m keen to get started with the blend.
Thanks
