New & Improved Rosacea Blend for Even Skin Tone

featured products
Not long ago, I shared the Rosacea Blend, a favorite EO blend that I rely on every day. However, soon after that blog post I've become somewhat of an alcohol-free Witch Hazel devotee and as per my life and how I live it, I updated! I'm convinced that if I'd known about this natural elixir earlier I'd have fewer life lines now.
A bottle of quality Witch Hazel should be every EO users BFF IMHO, right there beside FCO.  There will be a quiz on the acronyms later ;)
The new spray variation using a quality Witch Hazel is worth this update.  The healing qualities of Witch Hazel are right up there with EOs and less expensive.
Rosacea Blend RECIPE
___________________________________________
6 drops Helichrysum
8 drops Frankincense
3 drops Geranium
4 drops Lavender
Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel
Add EOs to a 2 oz glass spray bottle and top with a quality Witch Hazel and shake gently to blend.  The Witch Hazel will turn cloudy, it's just the EOs emulsifying, no worries!  Tip to blend then spritz the "rosy" areas on your clean face morning and night.
There's something so refreshing about a spritz of cool, pure clean on your face morning and night, the Rosacea blend with Witch Hazel fits that feeling brilliantly, I love how it smells too.
Love your skin & put your best face forward!

All the witch hazel I’ve been able to find has alcohol in it! I read through the ingredients list on amazon and it appears to contain methylparabens…isn’t that one of those things people are trying to avoid these days?

FYI, Puritans Pride has this witch hazel on sale for $5.59 and I ordered 3 bottles of it! Smells awesome. Also, is there something else I could add to this spray to also help with acne/blemish issues to kill two birds with one stone (and just spray all over my face)?

Awesome! Maybe Amazon hasn’t updated their ingredient list in a a while. I went to the Thayer’s site and indeed they advertise as paraben free!

I would think a few drops of Tea Tree EO would do the trick.

Also, I totally got Witch Hazel on your recommendation, but I got the unscented with aloe vera kind. I love anything with aloe vera! Will it still work in this recipe?

I don’t think I have Rosecea, but my face does stay red alot! I’m going to give this a try when I get all the EOs listed.

I want to thank you for all you do, I had never tried EOs before trying your sister’s Jeddy’s Blend and some of the things you’ve posted. I’ve signed up to be an IPC for doTerra and have a FB page. I wanted to ask permission first, but I’d love to share your blog with people to let them know the ways they can use oils. Thank you so much! You’re like a mad scientist coming up with all kinds of awesome ways to utilize EOs!

I have HORRIBLE acne scars and this blend has helped sooo much! I use it about once a day, I try twice but I forget sometimes. It has made all the difference. I used your manuka honey recipe and added heli and sandalwood. I use that twice a week and I no longer have adult acne. My red scars have now faded to a light pink and look better than they have in years!! yay!! Can you make a thyroid recipe for hypotyhroidism please? Thank you for all you do Rebecca! It is much appreciated :)

Do you mind if I put links of your site on my FB page? You’re so knowledgeable, I think it would help my friends and family see the ways they can use the oils. I wanted to ask first because I can’t stand when people put stuff up that’s not their own.

I’m going to stick by the alcohol free version, it’s been fabulous in every aspect.

So I’m going to stir things up a bit… according to this forum thread (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/83154-Witch-Hazel-Question), real Witch Hazel has 14% alcohol in it, which is a result of the distillation process, acts a preservative and has antiseptic properties. (so for the person asking about acne, maybe use regular witch hazel instead of the alcohol free version).

I’d like to know if the alcohol-free version is better for rosacea treatment or if either can be used.

Thanks!
Michelle

my esthetician told me not to use the alcohol version because the alcohol actually will dry out the skin and create more acne as a result… just an FYI

Yes Cindy, this would be a great option for broken capillaries.

I don’t have rosacea but I do have broken capillaries around my nose, making the whole area red. Would this help the redness from it also? If not, what oils/blends do you recommend for that? Thanks in advance!

Can’t thank you enough for continuing to provide your followers with great EO recipes! I have referenced your website a number of times so that others can learn more about effective uses for their EO’s. This specific recipe has helped three clients of mine. They no longer use their rosacea Rx meds! Happy Happy! One shared the success of the EO’s with her nurse practioner who “pooh-pooh’d” her usuage of the EO blend. Next week she plans on asking her Doctor who prescribed the Rosacea meds what he thinks. I told her not to expect him to believe her and her success with the EO blend. Thanks again for all you do.

Yes, the oils would need to be ordered individually. A 5ml bottle contains approximately 150 drops – should last you awhile :)

Hi
I am interested in trying the rosacea blend. Is that something I can order online as a blend or do I need to buy each oil individually? If I need to buy it individually would 5ml be enough to get 20 drops out of? It looks like an investment to buy each oil individually – just trying to gauge what I’m getting for the investment!
Many thanks for posting this.

What can you substitute for Sandalwood?

Rebecca

May 10, 2017

I lightened the recipe as it was potent for some and Sandalwood was hard to come by for others. If you have the original recipe you can certainly make it, along with the Sandalwood and the Rosemary which you’ll love!

Am I going crazy? I bought rosemary and sandalwood EO and was looking at the recipe that included 20 drops etc… I just sat down to make it and now geranium and lavender are listed instead. And the portions are WAY less. I thought it was my mistake, but then I started reading the comments and saw that others mentioned sandalwood and using 20 drops. This makes me hesitant to try this recipe.

Hi! Love your blog! I am having a bit of a problem tho. Many of your pages have the ingredient lists with amounts right next to where your “button” is and the html is covering the amounts. Ive tried changing the zoom (both in and out) to see if that would help but no go. Any advise?

I buy my oils from Native American Nutritionals. They have Helichrysum gymnocephalum which is $45 for 15ml, or Helichrysum italicum which is $150 for 15ml. Which one should I buy for this blend? Thanks!

I have pretty severe Rosacea, in fact, I take a prescription for it but it stills flares up, especially when I am stressed or recently exercised. I also have to be careful with what I wash my face with, too, because soap and scrubs can also be an irritant. Any ideas for a facial wash?

I have been using this blend for almost 2 months now. It still amazes me when I get up in the morning and look in the mirror and see my skin tones more even and the redness has almost gone away. I still have some capillaries that haven’t faded, but they are getting smaller, and I know with consistent use, they will eventually go away.. In the past, there is no way I would leave the house without foundation on my face, now — after using this blend — I don’t think it would be such a bad thing!
Thank you! Thank you for all you do!

Hello! I’m wondering about the two versions of this blend posted under your name. Both sound good mind you but I’m wondering if it might be overkill adding sandlewood to the lavender version or if you could suggest something for skin that oily but beginning to show signs of aging. I’m 45 and blessed with acne/flare-ups AND aging skin.

Funny, I just happened to come across this and only thought this morning how I wanted to try a blend with witch hazel rather than a carrier oil!

Thanks for your fabulous site!

I would recommend making small batches however, a nice natural preservative that I use a lot of is a non GMO, kosher certified vitamin e. I actually have it available for purchase in the CW Shop on the website! Enjoy and thank you for sharing your success :)

First off, Thayers Rose Witch Hazel is my best friend! No, but seriously, we are inseparable…anywho I’ve been using oils and essential oils for cleaning and moisturizing for a while, but I’ve just started getting into making my own blends etc. I stumbled across your blog because I was looking to make some stuff for my aunt who suffers from Rosacea. She lives out of town from me and I just wanted to know what the shelf life of this mixture is and if I need to add some kind of natural preservative to give it a longer shelf life. TIA!
