How many of you know a loved one or a friend of a loved one undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer? Sadly, many of us are raising our hands right now. Cancer sucks but there's always hope and hope can come wrapped in love. Help your friends and loved ones heal well and quickly with an herbal salve packed with powerful ingredients to speed the recovery of radiation burns. As women, we have an innate ability to heal and overcome. Fight Like a Girl is an awesome phrase, it's just not in our nature as women to sit back and watch our people suffer! Many of you have made and experienced the effectiveness of All Purpose Healing Salve and you already understand that it works! Lately, I've had several notes from friends who brilliantly thought to make salve to help their loved ones with post radiation burns. Some of you shared stories like this note received by Robin and I knew I had to share the success here on the website to search for future reference. From Robin: "OK you are a life saver. I just talked to mom and she said the healing salve you made out performs every other Rx and home remedy she tried to soothe radiation burns. She's still going to have a rough go of wearing clothing for another 7 days but that salve is already doing wonders. She said it's something every cancer patient needs after surgery." What's so special about All Purpose Healing Salve? Basically, the purity of the ingredients. The body recognizes them, wants them and knows how to use them!
Base:
Make this salve, wrap it up with love and pass it on. You never know how many lives one jar can touch and where it will lead. When you're ready, please hop over to the All Purpose Healing Salve post for a printable recipe card!

Yes, just a light layer is all that’s needed. She should stay out of direct contact with the sun several hours after applying too.

Hi Rebecca. My sister just finished radiation for her sinuses. Can this salve be used on her face?

Yes, it’s digitally altered to represent the PINK fight against breast cancer campaign :)
May 10, 2017
I love the pink in the healing salve. What did you use to get the color or is that a computer graphic trick?
May 10, 2017
Yay, that’s the one I was leaning toward, too! (See? Learning!) Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in the shop! x

Thanks Jenny, it’s so satisfying to know you take advantage of the information I’ve have to share, much appreciated!
I think either salve would be a fine choice but I do like the addition of Frankincense, especially in more intimate places where tissue is especially fragile. Try the Dirty Salve with pure Frank, it’s so gentle yet powerful and maybe just s few drops of Lavender too. All my best to your family!

Confession: I am completely addicted to your blog. I always start here when I’m researching a particular oil.
Question: I’ve been trying to find something to help my MIL in her recovery. She suffered radiation burns in some rather…. personal areas, which has me wondering which would be a better choice, APHS or the Dirty Salve?
Thanks so much for all your help for us wanderers! :-)

Why not send along a jar of Radiation Burn Healing Salve with your soap, they would compliment each other beautifully :) All my best to your loved ones on this journey Evie.

Hi, thanks so much for this recipe. I make handmade soaps which I’ve shared with many people after undergoing radiation and chemo since they are so gentle, chemical free and unscented. I have one that people really seem to like. However, I know chemo is known to really dry out the skin. Even though handmade soaps are a lot more moisturizing, do you have any suggestions for a good handmade lotion or body butter recipe to complement them? I have another friend who is just about to start treatment and I’m putting a care package together. Thank you in advance!

After each of my treatments I was told to put on cream? Can I use this after each radiation treatment? I have so much peeling stinging and just uncomfortable :( looking for any relief…any recipes for all natural body soaps maybe to help my hyper sensitivity? Thank you
Denielle

Yes, during the healing process.

I’m not exactly, understanding the use of the salve. I know that when you are receiving radiation treatments, you aren’t to use creams, salves, etc on the area. Is this to be used after all of the treatments are finished?
May 10, 2017
This worked wonders for me, have 37 radiation treatments. This helped with the itching and burns from radiation more than any oily cream they gave me. Using healing salve, I didn’t go through the sensitivity and discomfort. So thankful for this.

I have been adding 10 drops of Frank to the APHS I make for myself & my family. I’m sure it enhances the other oils and it certainly can’t hurt. I label it All Purpose Healing Salve Plus.

Thank you for the recipe of the Healing Salve (fight like a girl). I added Frankincense and continue to use it; even though my radiation ended 6 weeks ago.
I’m also undergoing plastic surgeries to reconstruct my nose after a skin cancer MOHs surgery during which I lost the bottom left half of my nose. I’m using the salve for my face and my scars. I’m sharing this salve’s recipe with friends and family. It provides pain relieve, heals my skin and give me peace of mind!
Thank you again!

Gina, this particular Salve isn’t available ready made but if you wanted to purchase I would recommend the Anti-Age Salve with pure Rose essential oil. Sending warm thoughts your way, take care!

how do i get to order this salve. I am going thru radiation and getting the burns
May 10, 2017
Denielle, I think you’ll find the natural ingredients in this salve will be much more soothing to your skin.

I am almost done with my treatment in the sensitive area. Wondering if it helped. Right now I feel like I will need a miracle. I am burnt to a crisp

Can this salve be used on the skin daily where/when you are currently having radiation treatments.? I hear you say it’s great for after radiation is over, but what about everyday DURING the weeks of treatment? OR Should I make it without the lemon oil? I need to know ASAP!!
Thanks ,
Cindy

Finished my chemo and radiation about a month ago and throughout my radiation, I painted between the lines with the healing salve. I told my doctor about it and she said it couldn’t hurt. Well, after 23 radiations, my doctor and the radiation team were amazed at how well my skin looked. I have passed Camp Wander on to friends about to go through the same thing. The salve really helped. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I also think you’re pretty amazing to share your recipes. Your heart is definitely in the right place! Bless you!

I can’t help but believe it would be much appreciated – even beyond chemo and radiation. It’s a wellness blend that can be used in a wide variety variety of topical applications.

I am helping put together “Survivor” bags for one of the Relay for Life events in my area. I think the Fight Like a Girl/Healing salve would be a nice little surprise. My question to all of you is, do you think that would be something appropriate to give to the survivors? Thanks much. Love this site and all of the new things I am learning each day!!!

Bless you and thank you for sharing with us and with others! Keep fighting like a girl! :)

Hello and thank you for all your fantastic recipes but I have one questions concerning you All Purpose Healing Salve recipe, it says to add to the jar, lavender, lemon melaleuca but in the Radiation Burn Relief Healing salve, is it the same recipe this is the one I don’t understand
May 10, 2017
Rosanne, I think Geranium, Blue Chamomile or St. John’s Wort would be great substitutions for Lavender. All of these EOs are restorative to the skin.
May 10, 2017
Can you suggest a replacement oil for lavender? My daughter-in-law is very allergic to it, and I need to be careful about diffusing/wearing lavender around her. I’m looking for a good substitute in this healing salve (Frank, maybe?), and generally in other applications. Thanks for sharing your talent and your love!

Hello CW! I wanted to take a moment to pass on some praise for the All Purpose Healing Salve. Around the time my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer, I happened to see this page about treating radiation burns with the salve. I wasn’t looking for it, yet there it was. So I made up a batch, and passed on a small jar. Honestly, I didn’t have a lot of faith that she’d use it, but I thought it was a nice gesture and I wanted to do something for her. I never heard anything else about it, and it’s been months, until out of the blue, I received a text message this week…
“…just wanted to let you know you saved my sanity last night with your salve. Did all the dr’s stuff and didn’t work, so at 4am I tried it and got some relief and sleep.”
I’m so glad she thought to use it, and I know now she’s a believer. Thanks for all you do to help people!
P.S. – That was the first time I had made the salve, and now my family uses it for everything. Most recently, it totally knocked out overnight the sore, dry, cracked under-nose area associated with a bad cold. It’s the best!
May 10, 2017
Cindy, I have friends that used it “inbetween” treatments without issue…even with their doctor’s approval.
May 10, 2017
I can’t find the Radiation Burn Healing Salve on your website to purchase. Please send link.
May 10, 2017
Is there a reason why you can’t use olive oil?
May 10, 2017
What oil can I use instead of olive oil? That won’t burn a radiation burn?
May 10, 2017
Yes, it’s the same recipe – truly all purpose on many levels :)
