Turmeric is practically a household item, everybody's talking about its benefits which stands to reason as it's such a powerful herb. It's healing benefits are so extensive that there's over 6,000 peer reviewed studies published to date but what does Black Pepper have to do with it? There is so much information on Turmeric to share and scores of clinical studies to link to I hardly know where to begin. This short blog post will simply touch on a few important facts, suggest usage and hopefully, whet your appetite to learn more. In the end though, it's up to you to do your own due diligence and make your own best decisions. If you're on medication, by all means consult with your health care provider re: Turmeric & Black Pepper. Most physicians are aware of this herb and any counter-indications that you should be aware of. The good news is - Turmeric has no known side effects if used in moderation. Always practice "less is more". turmeric-blackpepper According to many studies, Turmeric may do the following:
  • Manage Pain! Apply topically to area of discomfort, consistent use will present best results.
  • Aid in prevention of brain disease
  • Prevent and fight cancer
  • Reduce inflammation and stiffness related to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis
  • Liver protective
  • Strong relaxant, helps to calm anxiety and may be a safe therapy for mild depression
  • Relieve nasal congestion
  • Lower blood sugar and reverse insulin resistance
  • Manage IBS
  • Reduce oxidative stress
  • Natural steroid minus the side effects of prescription steroids
Good to Know
  • Turmeric is not efficiently absorbed by the body unless taken with black pepper to increase its bioavailability. SOURCE
  • Use Turmeric & Black Pepper Power Blend with a fat to boost absorption even more. Bonus! This blend is packaged with a 10ml bottle of Organic Rosehip Seed Carrier Oil, a lovely fat.
  • If you're going to take this supplement internally expect a spicy taste, it's not hot per se but it has a strong flavor.
  • Our Organic Turmeric CO2 Extract is very yellow and may stain clothing. It will also stain skin temporarily however, very lightly after it's been diluted by 50%
Usage
  • Dilute. I get my best results using 1 part Turmeric & Black Pepper Power Blend to 1 part carrier oil (organic rosehip seed carrier oil is my favorite!)
  • Apply topically to areas of discomfort - I like the control of a roller bottle application!
  • Internal - 1 drop in a smoothie, oil pulling (wonderful herb for oral health!) or, in a spoonful of honey
Test patch on your skin is always recommended

I got my kit and I’m reading from the post earlier and to my understanding you would do 50 drops of each Turmeric and Black Pepper and Rosehips Seed Oil. I want to apply this to the bottoms of my husbands feet to ease the neuroapthy pain or any other suggestion you could add. Thank you Rebecca

Thank you. I love the smell of the lavender thieves salve. Does it come in an oil to diffuse?

Annette, I like a 50/50 blend but you can find what works for you. At this dilution, the yellow absorbs right in.

Could you tell me how many drops of oil and how much carrier oil to mix in roller bottle? I got mine in the mail yesterday and excited to try it. Thank you.

If you are wanting to take this internally with a spoonful of honey, how many times a day? If I read the article correctly….one drop with the spoonful, but I wondered how many times. Any news on that?

No, it’s not a equal parts ratio Angelica. Use approximately 1/3 Black Pepper to 2/3 Turmeric.

Hi Rebecca, I have both oils. To create the blend do I use equal parts of each in a 5 or 10ml bottle?

Pat, you might think about layering Nerve Pain & Block on afterwards. Have you tried that blend on your hubby?

Kelly, the blend can be taken internally, I would start with 2 to 3 drops in a smoothie or in a capsule daily but I would take your dose separate from LLP.

I am VERY interested in this to reverse insulin resistance. What is your recommendation on the amount? I currently take a capsule of 9 drops of LLP every morning and every night, can the turmeric/black pepper also be taken in a capsule? If so, can it be added to the LLP or does it need to be separate?

2/3 Turmeric to 1/3 Black Pepper – comprises the blend. From there, I dilute the blend by half (50/50).

Julie, once or twice a day. You can certainly experiment with 2 or 3 drops as well. I share the possibility, present a starting point and then it’s up to you to find what works best for YOU! :)

That’s a question I can’t answer but if I were to try, I would say two weeks or more.

Thank you! I’m sure there’s no “norm”, but can you tell me how long to expect to see a difference. Not sure if it will happen with the first dose or over time. Days, weeks, months. . .
