As a Mom who powered through several washers and dryers, this is a subject near and dear to my heart. I know that lots of parents with bed wetters and/or adults living with an over active bladder can relate to the laundry issue but that's only part of the inconvenience. Believe me, it's a long, hard struggle to overcome but let me share with you what I know now that I didn't know then! "I wanted to share a success story with you. I have had over active bladder problems my entire life, including urgency, UTI, and bed wetting. I'm on medication that helps a lot. If I don't take it before bed, I wake up and go to the bathroom every two hours without fail. My husband and I want to try and start a family in the near future and I can't be on that medication, as well as others, while pregnant. I decided to look into what can help me. I researched and found that Cypress essential oil can help. I diluted some in a roller bottle and applied on the lower abdomen area right before bed. I did not wake up to pee! I tried it again last night and I woke up once, I had too much to drink with dinner. Once, I can handle! I am so thrilled that I can have relief without medication." -K
As with any remedy, there's no guarantee everyone will have the same results. Some can experience success right away, other's will need to try it for a week or two before seeing results. Some may not see any results at all but it's worth a try don't you think? Application: For our little ones on a sleepover: I applied Cypress with Naked Carrier Salve topically to the lower abdomen right before bed but other's will swear by applying Cypress directly over the bladder. This will be personal preference and you can try both ways.

My dear friend has been diagnosed with MS and occasionally looses bladder control. Would this protocol be helpful for her?
I definitely will add cypress into my product line. Great info, thanks so much posting
Thanks for this post I’ve got to get some cypress like asap. are there any other oils that might help with issue oils.
If I were to put this in a small roller bottle for ease of application for my 6 year old, how concentrated should it be? I don’t want to make it too strong. Thank you!
Good question! I would use it occasionally if she starts staying dry at night and observe the results.
I can’t wait to try this for my daughter. One question, when we get to the point of her not wetting the bed anymore, do I continue with the cypress oil?
Thank you so much for this information. It is much needed by several family members. Now to order some Cypress oil.
It very well could be Dian.
Do you know what to use for constant bladder infections and kidney stones?
Can Cypress be used on dogs?
Mixing it up right now! Thank you!
Carly, I would dilute it 50% for your 6 yr old :)
Thank you, Rebecca!
Tina, so sorry I missed your question. Yes, in my opinion pure Cypress is safe to use during the day topically.
Hi Rebecca. I’ve posted this question a couple of times on your facebook page and submitted this question here but it will not post. I am interested in using this during the day and wondering if this is recommended/safe to do so. Thank you for your response.
Just got our SN Cypress in the mail today, my 5yo is SUPER excited! Thanks!
thank you, thank you, thank you so much for posting this article!!!!
Thanks I will do that. Can’t hurt, right? ;)
Oh Im so sorry, darnit! If it were me Shanna, I would give it a try for a few days and see if it might help.
My daughter is 6 1/2 and has started peeing her pants during the day. She stays dry at night though. Do you think if I put this on her before she leaves for school it might help her get through the day without any accidents? We have tried making her go every hour during the day when we are home, but I can’t expect her teachers to be doing that and most 6 year olds are capable of knowing when they need to go. I am hoping she is just too busy to get to the bathroom but if you or any readers here have any thoughts or suggestions I am willing to listen/read. When I asked the doctor he did not seem concerned about it but she stinks like pee when she gets home and I don’t want her friends to start picking on her because she smells. Thanks for any comments you all may have.
This is awesome information to know to help control bladder spasms. But, due to past experience with my daughter I would only use this as a last resort for a child. My daughter at the age of 5 was diagnosed with bi-lateral reflux of the kidneys wherein the urine produced flowed from the kidneys to the bladder, and then back up to the kidneys. This caused her extreme pain and bedwetting. Because she was a child, she didn’t really know to complain about the pain and I just thought she was a bedwetter and would grow out of it. Thankfully, I had a very astute nurse practitioner who checked my daughter out thoroughly and discovered the problem.
I hope this information is of some help to someone. In the meantime, I will search out this remedy for myself as I am recovering from a really nasty bladder infection and I believe this will help.

My son has a chromosome deletion that results in many delays. Potty training was one of those. We put a watch with a count down timer on him so it would alert him to go at school and at home. His kinder teacher didn’t want to use it (she reminded him all day) but his 1st grade teacher loved making him responsible for it. He started using it at about 4 and we just removed it for the summer as a ‘test’ & he’s doing great at 7 1/2. Some kids just take longer. None of his classmates teased him & very little accidents while using the watch. WAY less stressful for me!
Tin, Did you end up trying an did it help?
I has worked for many but not all, everyone responds differently to essential oils Andrea. I can’t make promises but, pure Cypress could definitely be of help.
Rebecca, I was wondering if this could be used on an adult male mage 68 with Alzheimers. I have had his urine tested no signs of infection, no glucose. He drinks a lot during the day. He has mid stage Alzheimers and I have to send out my laundry and he is ruining our mattress. I have protective covers and he has gone thru them. He wets from his chest and down…gets to his socks at times. I try and regulate his intake after 4-5 but with the AD it is tricky. Most do not like to be treated like children, which they are, so it ruffles his feathers and ensues an arguement. He is on a mood pill and it is putting him to sleep pretty much. But the wetting like this has just started. He has been on this med for about 3-4 months with an occasional episode. But now it is every night and the smell is terrible. Could this help? I need help….hard to get the laudry out to the lady who washes for me. I have no facilities in my home….it is old. Thx for your response. Andrea
If you have epilepsy with seizures can you use Cypress Oil?
Hi Hani – As the article states, it is certainly worth a try but there may be other factors to consider. If you do decide to try the application of rubbing it directly on the area of your bladder, make sure you give it a few days to see results. Don’t give up on it too soon. You can also apply it to the bottom of your feet.
Hi I am only 21 and I developed a leaking problem when I was about 19 all of a sudden. I leak without even realising it and I feel I am so young. If I apply this in the daytime directly on my bladder area will it help and can this oil be used fot oral intake aswell?
Heather, I have not used cypress + coconut oil during the day yet, but I did use it before going to bed at night for overactive bladder and it really does work.
Heather, I did use the cypress + coconut oil at night for overactive bladder and really does work. I have not used during the yet.
Yes, you can absolutely change the carrier oil to something you like :)
Will this work with the coconut oil that is processed differently to get rid of the smell (absolutely cannot stand the smell), or even a different oil like almond? I assume that the coconut is used as a carrier oil only. I’ve had over active bladder for years. The only thing I’ve found that helps at night is a tablespoon or so of raisins, this would be great for add benefit!
