the Encyclopedia of Entomology tells us that…

“Open-ended hair-like setae at the ends of the legs and pedipalps serve as taste receptors. Spiders will avoid pungent or acidic substances upon contact.”

Our DIY Spider Repellent Spray with Peppermint essential oil is formulated to hit spiders with pungent scents they can’t stand - to repel, not kill (most spiders are beneficial!). Spray weekly at the start to keep the scent strong. When their activity dies down, you should be able to only spray once or twice a month.

Spider Repeller Spray:

60 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil

8oz Watere

8oz Vodka

*Glass Spray Bottle

Mix all ingredients in the spray bottle. Before using spray, vacuum up webs and egg sacs. Spray around windows, doors, and crevices, under cabinets - anywhere you see insect activity.

🕷 RV Tip! Generously spray cotton makeup rounds - place in cabinets and drawers - works wonders in RVs. Spiders (and mice) won't love the scent but we will :)

You can also just keep this on hand for the seasons when insects are on the move and looking for a new home.

EO User Pro Tip

Save those 32 oz glass vinegar bottles - they make the perfect vessel for essential oil spray protocols and DIY essential oil-based cleaners, repellents, and room fresheners.
